The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests at Chimiking Restaurant, setting the tone for a delightful dining experience. They are responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth seating process. Their exceptional customer service and organizational skills contribute to the overall satisfaction of our guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they enter and exit the restaurant, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage reservations, the waitlist, and seating arrangements to maximize the efficiency of service and dining space.
- Communicate with guests regarding wait times, and notify them when their table is ready.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and manage reservations or take-out orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area, including the reception area and adjacent spaces.
- Assist guests with special needs or requests, ensuring their dining experience meets or exceeds expectations.
- Coordinate with the service and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation and timely service.
- Address and resolve guest concerns, seeking to improve their dining experience.
- Ensure menus are clean, presentable, and stocked adequately.
- Help with cleaning and organization tasks during downtime to maintain a tidy and inviting space.
- Support other staff members with tasks as needed to ensure a high level of service.
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or in a customer service role is a plus.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and busy periods calmly and professionally.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer skills, with experience in reservation software being a plus.
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
