The Kitchen Manager holds a key leadership position within Chimiking Restaurant, overseeing the entire kitchen operation. They ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, food is prepared to the highest standards, and the staff work efficiently and cohesively to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
- Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working environment within the kitchen.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs while minimizing waste.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to develop menus, create new dishes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints regarding food quality or preparation.
- Monitor equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring all kitchen appliances are in good working order.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals as needed, especially during peak times.
- Analyze customer feedback and make necessary adjustments to improve the quality and consistency of dishes.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and discuss operational improvements.
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role in the restaurant industry.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience and training.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen equipment, and sanitation standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficient in restaurant management software and other relevant kitchen operational software.
