Summary:
As a Server at Chimiking Restaurant, you are at the heart of our guest’s dining experience. Your primary responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, taking accurate orders, and ensuring guests enjoy a memorable dining experience reflective of the warmth and hospitality of Dominican and Puerto Rican culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly and courteous demeanor, making them feel welcome.
• Present menus, offer suggestions and answer any questions regarding food and beverage items.
• Take orders accurately and ensure they are communicated to the kitchen staff promptly.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently, check with guests to ensure satisfaction, and handle any complaints professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining and serving areas.
• Process payments accurately, returning change or processing card transactions as required.
• Monitor guest needs, refill beverages and ensure they have everything they need for an exceptional dining experience.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and colleagues.
• As needed, assist in setting up tables, clearing tables, and other front-of-house duties.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve service standards.
• Proactively engage guests in exploring our menu offerings, introducing new dishes, desserts, drinks, and promotional specials to encourage increased sales. Utilize upselling techniques to promote higher-ticket items and enhance the dining experience. Your knowledge and enthusiasm about our menu should entice guests to try new offerings and return for their favorites, contributing to the overall sales growth of the restaurant.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Server, Waitstaff Member, or customer service role is preferred.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems and basic math skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively with guests.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle stress, and remain calm under pressure.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic food and beverage menus knowledge, with a willingness to learn about Dominican and Puerto Rican cuisine.
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays of food and beverages.
